We offer a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes designed to provide a comprehensive education in the performing arts. Our curriculum is rooted in the philosophy that the boundaries between drama, dance, and music are fluid, particularly in African culture. Students are trained across these disciplines to develop a holistic understanding and appreciation of the performing arts. Our postgraduate programmes, initiated under the guidance of Professor Zulu Sofola and further developed by subsequent Heads of Department, offer advanced study and research opportunities.
The Department actively engages with the broader community through performances, workshops, and collaborations with national and international cultural organizations. Our students and faculty regularly participate in events promoting the performing arts, contributing to cultural discourse and development within and beyond Nigeria.
